I just learned my neighbor got so unlucky with his 2024 when he used his rear defroster one morning and his windows just shattered to pieces. He was out of town when it happened.. he didn't get to park his car inside a garage and he said the temperature dipped overnight. Talk about bad timing! Poor guy, I think his car will be at the shop for a while, probably weeks given the parts delays, until he gets it back. So yeah, don't use rear defrosters to warm up your cars especially in colder temperatures! Huge hassle, really!

These cars are actually supposed to handle winter, not self destruct from basic features like a rear defroster, so now what's the point of having it if using it risks shattering your glass? honda really needs to step up and address stuff like this

Apparently your neighbor has bad luck because these things can happen but they are very rare. If there is a flaw or chip in the glass and even a pre-existing weakness to the window that scenario is possible. Rear defroster is made to be used for de-frosting or warming so if something like this happened to someone it doesn't mean that it'll happen to everyone. :)

These things can happen to any car, not just honda
