Is this normal or a malfunction guys? My car is slowing down when going downhill on eco mode and D transmission. Pretty worry here

Is it like an engine braking effect??? I'm driving a newer model and my dad warned me this could happen, especially on econo mode.
It might good to check and test in other driving modes just to see if it's because of the econo mode or not!!!
How slow? do you feel like its hitting the brakes on its own? Could be safety feature, refer to the manual.

It's definitely not normal, it can be an issue with the transmission or the braking system. it could be also the engine management system reducing power but that shouldn't affect the speed.

As a worrier and I am very anxious, I'd take this to shop to amke sure. Lots here says it's not normal. haven't experienced this yet, Update us!

Sometimes eco mode is programmed that way to optimize fuel efficiency. By slowing down on a downhill the system reduces unnecessary fuel use, and it gives you a smoother drive. Still, if you're worried contact your dealer. just in case.
